Getting to the Queensland Cultural Centre

Please note: All day closure of Grey Street between Glenelg Street and Peel Street on Saturday 30 November 2024, 3am to 7pm

- The tower crane at the new performing arts venue project will be removed on Saturday 30 November 2024.
- A full closure of Grey Street in both directions is required between Glenelg Street and Peel Street from 3am to 7pm. If weather delays the work, the closure will take place on Sunday 1 December 2024, 3am to 7pm.
- The Queensland Cultural Centre carparks will be open via Stanley Place.
- Accessible drop-off for QPAC patrons will be provided. Please speak with traffic controllers for directions and visit the QPAC website for further details: qpac.com.au/visit/getting-here

 

The Queensland Cultural Centre is located at Brisbane's South Bank and is accessible by car, bus, ferry and train. It is also walking distance from the central business district (CBD).

Walk

The Centre is accessible by foot from Brisbane’s CBD via the Victoria Bridge or the Kurilpa footbridge.

Public Transport

The Centre is accessible by bus, train and ferry. Visit TransLink for public transport information.

Ride Share

A temporary set down area for vehicles including taxis, coaches, school buses and minibuses is located on Stanley Place.

Parking

Three undercover car parks are located in the Centre, offering more than 1,000 spaces, including bays for people with disability (PWD).

  • P1 - 2.0m height restriction – offers best parking for Queensland Performing Arts Centre (with 16 PWD) and is accessible via Stanley Place. Get directions
  • P2 - 2.0m height restriction – offers best parking for Queensland Art Gallery and Queensland Museum (with 13 PWD) and is accessible via Stanley Place. Get directions.
  • P3 - 2.3m (lower level) and 2.0m (upper level) height restriction – offers best parking for State Library Queensland and Gallery of Modern Art (with 6 PWD) and is accessible via Stanley Place. Get directions.

Please note: towed trailers are not permitted in the car parks.

Electronic signage will display FULL when all car parking bays are allocated, and vehicles will not be able to gain access. Patrons with disability permits are advised to check with the attendant via the auto pay station intercom to confirm if PWD bays are available. 

Car Park Opening Hours

The car parks are open from 7am to 12am (midnight) from Monday to Sunday and most public holidays. Vehicles exiting after hours may incur an additional fee.

Parking Rates

The rate for all Queensland Cultural Centre car parks is $17.60 per entry, per day. Car parking fees are set by the Queensland Government Fees and Charges Indexation Policy.

The car parks provide fully contactless payment via automated pay stations. Payment can be made on entry by credit card only (Visa or MasterCard). No cash payments are accepted.

Car park staff can be contacted via intercom at the auto pay stations to assist patrons with credit card or equipment malfunctions. 

Prepaid parking: Parking vouchers from QTIX for performances at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre can be used at P1 only (refer to the above map). On arrival to the P1 car park, please press the intercom button on the entry device and advise the car park staff that you have a pre-paid voucher.

Coach/bus Parking

Parking for coaches/buses in South Brisbane is managed by Brisbane City Council with locations available via the Brisbane City Council website.

If P1, P2 and P3 (refer map) are full, alternative parking can be found at the following locations:
