Details

Arts Queensland, in partnership with the Children’s Health Queensland Arts in Health Consultancy is supporting Queensland Health Capacity Expansion Programs (CEP) projects in multiple locations across Queensland, to integrate art into hospital infrastructure builds. 

The partnership will provide best practice guidance and advice, and facilitate access to, and inclusion of, artists and arts workers in the planning and design of infrastructure builds through working collaboratively with local design teams, First Nations networks and the broader arts sector.

Arts Queensland has employed a Manager, Arts Built In Health to work with Arts Queensland and Queensland Health, Health Infrastructure Queensland, local design teams and the arts sector to support integration of the arts into the CEP.

 

Objectives 

Building arts into the healthcare infrastructure will result in:

  • Enhanced experience and satisfaction of all patients, staff and visitors
  • The creation of a culturally safe environment
  • Transforming the clinical environment and creation of spaces for ongoing engagement.
