Nightworks from June to mid-August 2023
The latest progress includes the construction of an internal “birdcage” scaffold, weighing 200 tonnes, to support fitout works within the theatre’s auditorium.
Staged installation of the scaffold will take place outside of normal construction hours beginning 12 June until mid-August 2023 from Monday to Saturday, 6.30pm to 6.30am. Please note there will be no works on site within the hours of 6.30am Sunday and 6am Monday.
What to expect?
- Work will take place during the normal construction hours.
- Work will also be undertaken outside of normal construction hours, between 6.30pm to 6.30am, Monday to Saturday. This includes:
- unloading of metal and timber materials and installation works within site boundaries.
- use of material hoists, hand tools and mechanical lifting equipment will be ongoing throughout the shift.
- drilling works at short intervals where scaffold is required to be secured to the structure.
- approximately 20 to 30 workers will be onsite.
- noise is expected during this activity and Lendlease will work to minimise impacts where possible.
- Russell Street will remain open to general traffic during these nightworks.
