Individuals Fund open – supporting Queensland's arts workers to reach their potential

Individual artists and cultural workers across Queensland can apply for funding through the Individuals Fund to support them their careers to the next level. The latest round of the Individuals Fund closed on 4 August 2017 and outcomes are expected to be known by the end of October 2017.

Funding of up to $10,000 per applicant is available through the fund to support artists and cultural workers to reach their potential, develop new skills and practice, explore new directions and develop new audiences and markets.

Find out how some of our recent successful applicants have benefited from support through Arts Queensland’s Individuals Fund:

Katherine Philp
Katherine Philp, an emerging cellist from Brisbane, participated in professional development activities at the San Marino New Music Project and at the Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music. Katherine studied with some of the best artists in contemporary music, gave solo and ensemble performances and presented her research about the performance practice of contemporary music.

 

 

Louise Bennett


Louise Bennett, a visual artist who principally works with video technology, received assistance to attend
Watou Kunstenfestival in Belgium where her commissioned public artwork was exhibited alongside international artists. Louise also developed an experimental arts project in Lima, Peru to potentially take her arts practice into a new direction.

 

 

Kieran Welch


Kieran Welch a Queensland violist, event curator and producer, DJ, teacher and writer. Assistance received through the Individuals Fund allowed Kieran to participate as a fellow in the 2016 Bang on a Can Summer Festival at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The three-week intensive is one of the most respected contemporary classical music mentoring programs in the world.

 

 

Since the inception of Arts Queensland’s Individuals Fund in 2013, over 107 artists and arts workers have been supported.
